Our Lake is in great shape, fuller at this stage than it has been in years, the fish have a lot of cover and the overall water condition currently is great. Clarity is very good in most areas of the lake, some fish have spawned, some are spawning now, and still more will spawn in the near future. Besides bass, the Lake is teeming with catfish, carp, native black fish, crappie and even the native fish, the hitch, which are considered endangered are being seen in good numbers. The catching is improving now that many of the fish have spawned and are starting to feed up from the spawn. For the past two weeks, the majority of the fisherman have been sight fishing, (catching the fish off of their beds) this has been the easiest way for people to catch the bass, but please let them go immediately so they can return to protect the eggs on the bed. When a bass is removed from the bed it is protecting, the eggs on the bed are doomed to be eaten by carp, crappie, blue gill, crawdads, etc. We need to protect our fishery and sight fishing fish off of their beds is not good for the long term results. There are tournaments scheduled as usual almost every weekend with a large three day tournament scheduled for June 7,8, and 9. With a full lake, great water conditions, the lake is getting a lot of boating activity and looks like we will have a busy summer. Currently while out on the lake we are seeing all kinds of water fowl with their babies, ducks, geese, swans, grebes, its a great time to be out on the lake. Be safe, be courteous to your fellow fisherman, picture and release your fish immediately after catching, God Bless
